Where should we move to in central Kentucky?
Q. We want to move to central Kentucky, because real estate prices in our state have gone way up, out of reach. Kentucky is famous for being a low-cost state, which is why we want to move there. We want good internet access where we move. Some towns don't have DSL. What other good internet access should we look for there? We can only afford a cheap house. Where should we look to get the best deal? Or maybe we could rent a house for a few years, till we could afford to buy one? Or even an apartment? We have 2 kids, but no pets. How much is the electricity in Kentucky? Ours is 9 to 11 cents per KWH. Where can we store our furniture, etc., while we look for a place? Unfortunately, the only way you can get married at 16 or 17 in Kentucky is by submitting a Consent to Marriage From (84-FCC-501), which is a form wherein your parents give their permission. The laws are lest strict in other states. Here in California, for example, if either the groom or the bride is a minor, only one parent is required to attend when you apply for your licence. A. You don't say where in Kentucky you're heading--it's a large state. Amtrak has one train that goes through Lafayette--the Cardinal. It goes between Chicago and DC, skimming along the Kentucky/Ohio border. If you wanted the far western part of Kentucky, you could go to Chicago and then get on Amtrak's City of New Orleans, which stops at Fulton, KY. If you're interested in the central part of Kentucky, Amtrak won't be of much help to you.

Q. I filed my federal and Kentucky state taxes 12 weeks ago (1/23/07) and managed to received my federal check one month later. I still have not received my state refund check. The website said that it usually take 8 to 12 weeks to process the return and they are taking their sweet time. I already called (502) 564-1600. Is there another number I can reach them by?

What are some ways that The University of Kentucky is better than Butler University?
Q. I am trying to convince one of my classmates to attend the University of Kentucky rather than Butler University. We live in Kentucky, so she will receive KEES money if she stays in-state, but money is really no object for her. Does anyone know a few things that make UK better than Butler?

What are some sightseeing places in Kentucky?
Q. My aunt and uncle are looking for a weekend family trip. They live in northeastern Kentucky, so they've seen Carter Caves and the areas around that. Anyone have any suggestions for the western part of the state?

A. There are plenty of options, depending on whether you want something historic, something outdoors, or anything else. The Bowling Green area has Mammoth Cave national park, as well as the National Corvette Museum and Corvette Assembly plant, and Beech Bend amusement park. Further west, the Land Between the Lakes (Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley) has all sort of outdoor activities - boating, fishing, camping, hiking. Of course, there are tons of things to do in Louisville; Kentucky Kingdom, the Louisville Science Center, the Louisville Slugger museum, Actor's Theater, the KY Center for the Arts, the Louisville Zoo, and Churchill Downs.
