Should the United States begin to produce products to compete with the countries from whom we are currently im?
Q. Should the United States begin to produce products to compete with the countries from whom we are currently importing importing products? Would that improve the job situation in the United States?

A. The U.S. lost the jobs to other countries because the other countries could make the product cheaper. How would be compete against another country to which we've already lost the competition. The labor costs are so much cheaper in many other countries that we simply can't compete. This is the reason the jobs went overseas in the first place.
